Cowes Customs

Good news! Some of the Cowes Records previously held at the Cowes Office and removed by Customs have reached the Isle of Wight Record Office in Newport, particularly the Letters Books 1908 - 1925. It is interesting that the date of 1925 was chosen, effectively 80 years. Certain others old records have not been sent, hopefully they will arrive at the National Archives in due course.

I will be transcribing available 20th Century Letters Books in due course.

Shalfleet Parish Register

The Shalfleet Parish Records will shortly be updated to what is effectively the final version. The 1600’s are not complete (neither are the records) and I have got as far as I can transcribing them. I will still be making additions as and when I find them.

I am also intending to transcribe Calbourne registers, starting with Baptisms 1837 - 1752, but don’t hold your breath.
